I am sooo lost!Anyone have a recipe for stuffed French toast? You put the bread in the pan %26amp; stuff %26amp; eggs/milk overnight?
Nope . no need to put the egg and milk overnight. You can do this from the time you cook your french toast. You just have to prepare the milk with egg, a lil flour to become sticky then a lil salt. Then heat the pan in a low fire until the pan is already hot.

Deep the bread in your prepared mixture and put a lil butter in the pan , then put the bread and cook it until golden brown.Anyone have a recipe for stuffed French toast? You put the bread in the pan %26amp; stuff %26amp; eggs/milk overnight?
This is not the soaking kind- but you could soak it for about 15 minutes - not over night

STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 c. walnuts or pecans

1 loaf white bread

4 eggs

Beat the cream cheese and vanilla together until fluffy. Stir in the nuts. Spread about 1 1/2 tablespoon of the mixture on a slice of bread. Top with a second piece of bread (like a sandwich). Repeat this process 10-12 times until the mixture is all used.

Beat together the eggs, whipping cream, vanilla and nutmeg. Dip the ';sandwiches'; into the egg mixture. Cook on a lightly greased griddle until golden brown, turn to cook the other side. Keep the cooked ';sandwiches'; warm by placing them on a baking sheet in a warm oven.

Meanwhile, heat together the preserves and orange juice. To serve, dust the Stuffed French Toast with powdered sugar and drizzle the warm sauce over the top.

ENJOY!Recipe for Stuffed French Toast?
Just take 2 pieces of bread, put between them whatever you like, i.e. cream cheese, jam, whatever and then batter it (I use a batter with eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla) and griddle it up on a well buttered griddle or pan! I just recently tried this with peanut butter and jelly in between and it was phenom!

Use Texas Toast bread (not the frozen pre-buttered kind, the loaf kind).

Make your custard about 3/4 cup milk (whole milk, please) to one egg. Add vanilla extract (the real thing).

Sautee the well-sodden slices slowly, maybe 2 minutes per side, on a griddle or pan lightly smeared with corn oil.

When they are done, sift a touch of powdered sugar over them, and serve with maple syrup (the REAL thing, now!), or plum preserves.

This is the best French toast I know how to make, and I think it is rather good. I hope you'll try it someday!A good recipe for french toast?
What I normally do is just get two peices of bread, toast them, sprinkle with cinnamon, and drizzle with syrup and powdered sugar...or you can just make cinnamon toast and then to that because that takes better with the cinnamon already baked on the bread and dont forget lots of butter!
My favorite creation:

TOAST

1 big loaf (thick, not long) of French Bread cut into 3/4-1'; thick slices

4-5 eggs, beaten w/:

1/2 c milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

pinch/dash of allspice

Dip slices of French Bread into egg mixture until soaked. Place in preheated skillet that has oil or butter in it (I recommend cooking over medium-low to medium heat to give a chance for the egg to cook all the way through without burning the exterior). Cook on both sides until dark golden brown. You may need to make more egg batter, depending on how saturated your toast slices are.

SYRUP (Should be prepared in advance)

Simple sauce: mix 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of water in a pan on the stove. Once sugar is melted and mixture begins to simmer, lower heat and add fruit of your choice (I add slivered Granny Smith apples and golden raisins) and cook til fruit is soft. Remove from heat and cool. Transfer to serving container and place in refrigerator to allow mixture to thicken up.

To serve, lay toast out on a plate, scoop fruit on top and drizzle with extra syrup. Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar.

Will serve 4 easily.

Delicious!
My childrens favorite: Scrabble your eggs, no milk, add some cinnamon and nutmeg (just a littl nutmeg), scrabble well, dip your bread, homemade bread is best, fry on griddle with butter until browned to your liking. Sprinkle a little powder sugar on top afterwards while warm if you like it like that.
mix/beat together eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, cinnamon. use white bread and dip it in and coat the entire piece in it. cook on medium heat on the stove...oh yeah use butter!

oh geez, i forgot! you need to put milk too in the egg mixture!

    Texas toast

    1 cup milk

    4 eggs

    1 tablespoon cinnamon

    1 tsp sugar

powdered sugar to sprinkle on top

    2 tbs margarine

Beat together milk, eggs, cinnamon, sugar, extract.

put a pat of margarine in a skillet dip your Texas toast in the batter don't soak it too much because you want to inside to also cook with out burning the outside and cook a few minutes on each side, cut into triangles and sprinkle powdered sugar add syrup and enjoy.

*you can omit the cinnamon, sugar and vanilla extract in the batter if you like to make it more plain but they taste better with it.

*You can also use heavy cream or half and half

    * Use regular white slice bread or even raisin cinnamon bread if you can't find texas toast.

*Use margarine instead of butter on this one since your putting it in a skillet margarine will not burn as fast as butter(even though I choose butter over margarine).

Great way to make French Toast.
America's Test Kitchen has a fantastic recipie that is almost a bread pudding. I don't know the exact recipie by heart but you need a loaf of white french bread that you cut the crust off and slice about 1'; thick, let the bread dry, butter a 9x13 pan and cover the bottom with brown sugar. Butter the stale bread slices and place them in the pan, pour a mixture of eggs and half %26amp; half over that, cover the pan with plastic wrap and then foil, place a couple of weights on top and refrigerate overnight. The next morning take it out of the fridge about 45 minutes before you cook it to get it back to room temp. It gets all fluffy and custardy and is really decadent. You don't need syrup or anything else with it other than some bacon, ham or sausage.
1 egg drop of milk pepper slice of thick white bread and little oil

whisk egg milk season to taste soak bread in egg

heat frying pan with a little oil and cook both sides until golden brown

try bacon and sausage and beans on top like you do with beans on toast
I just whip up a couple of eggs with a glop of milk. I like mine with a lot of black pepper and a little salt. Some people like to add cinnamon.

I soak the bread, on both sides because I prefer my french toast heavy and hearty. Some will tell you to just coat the bread lightly to make a lighter feeling toast. Preferences I guess.

In a lightly buttered pan, I drop in the soaked toast. Because mine are so heavy in egg batter, I need to brown it a bit longer, leaving my french toast a little on the dark side.

I serve it hot with butter melting and plenty of maple syrup.

I see lots of restaurants put jellies and fruit on top and a dollop of whipped cream.

For a special treat, I sometimes make it with somewhat thick slabs of sourdough french bread. Arrrrgh! Yummmm! The holey bread means more nooks and crannies for butter and syrup. The crunchy crust adds a fun texture.
Bascally, just beat some eggs and a little milk, heat some butter in a pan, dip the bread in the eggs and fry.

Add some cinnamon, vanilla, and/or banana extract for some flavor.

Use good quality bread. A nice dense French or sourdough is what you want, cheap sandwich bread just doesn't turn out right.

French toast for dinner -- use a strong-flavored rye bread, add some habenero sauce and chopped jalepeno to the eggs, serve with sour cream. When you find yourself doing something like this it's time for a trip to the grocery store.
    Orange Pecan French Toast:

    INGREDIENTS:

    1 cup packed brown sugar

    1/3 cup butter, melted

    2 tablespoons light corn syrup

    1/3 cup chopped pecans

12 (3/4 inch thick) slices French bread

    1 teaspoon grated orange zest

    1 cup fresh orange juice

    1/2 cup 2% milk

    3 tablespoons white sugar

    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    3 egg whites

    2 eggs

1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar for dusting

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    DIRECTIONS:

In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, melted butter, and corn syrup. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, and spread evenly. Sprinkle pecans over the sugar mixture. Arrange the bread slices in the bottom of the dish so they are in a snug single layer.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the orange zest, orange juice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, egg whites, and eggs. Pour this mixture over the bread, pressing on the bread slices to help absorb the liquid. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour, or overnight.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C ). Remove the cover from the baking dish, and let stand for 20 minutes at room temperature.

Bake for 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
Take one slice of french bread. Place in toaster. Push lever down. Wait. When toast pops up add butter and jam to taste.
it's just eggs and you take bread dip them in eggs and then you put them on a pan!

Here's a variation on the traditional Vanilla French Toast recipe just for kicks.

    10 eggs

    2 T. vanilla extract

    1/2 cup sugar

    1/2 cup sugar + 2 T. cinnamon + 1 t. nutmeg

Coat a 9 x 13 glass pan with non-stick cooking spray. Place two layers of bread in bottom - this should nearly fill the pan. Mix eggs, milk *( I use 1 cup non-fat vanilla creamer, 1 cup non-fat cream and 1 1/2 cups milk), vanilla and sugar. Pour half over bread layers. Place on bread. Cover with remaining milk/egg mixture. Sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon/nutmeg. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Cook 1 hour at 325-350 degrees. Let stand a few minutes before cutting

simple and from my own mind use two eggs and a tablespoon of vanilla extract or artificial extract and a dash of cinnamon if you want warm two ounces of water in a bowl in the micro wave and add the extract and the cinnamon now let cool for a minute as you stir or beat it now add the twoo eggs if its too loose then add two more add also two oz of sugar to the wet mix before the eggs now as its whipped wrm the pan or skillet or grill till a drop of water dances and then oil it with a canola and a napkin use a litle extra on the first batch then tone down the oil least and lower the heat to moderate the cooking time also no burns good luck

    1 1/2 tblspn vanilla extract

    2 tblspn sugar

    1 tspn cinnamon

    1/2 cup cream

    1 cup chocolate chips

Using a small round (1 1/2 inch) cookie cutter, cut out the center of the bread. Mix together all but the chocolate chips. Quickly dip both sides of 2 piece of toast into egg mix and place in the waiting hot pan. Spoon 1 1/2 tblspn of egg mix into the whole in the bread. Fill with chocolate chips. Let the toast cook fully on one side and carefully flip as not to spill the egg filling. Finish cooking and top with favorite syrup.

The chip and egg mixture in the toast makes a chocolate ';custard';, and when cut into makes a gooey treat. What is a really good recipe for french toast for kids or what is a website?

Just use some vegetable margarine on a bread, and then place it in a pan where you have the sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in.

Those ingredients should stick to the vegetable margarine on the bread.

    Also, don't burn yourself.

    Kicked Up French Toast

    Recipe Summary

    Difficulty: Medium

    Prep Time: 30 minutes

    Cook Time: 20 minutes

    Yield: 4 servings

    User Rating:

    8 slices stale cinnamon-raisin bread*

    2 ounces cream cheese, softened

    4 large eggs

    1 1/4 cups milk

    3 tablespoons light brown sugar

    3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

    2 tablespoons unsalted butter

    Powdered sugar, as topping

Maple or Cane Syrup, as desired

    Bacon Twirls, recipe follows

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

Lay the bread on a flat work surface. Spread 4 slices with a heaping tablespoon of cream cheese, and top each with the remaining slices of bread.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Place the bread flat in a casserole dish and cover with the egg mixture. Let soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

*(NOTE: If using fresh bread, do not soak longer than 5 minutes, as the bread will get too soggy.)

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in the pan. Add as many slices of soaked bread to the pan as will fit in 1 layer, and cook until golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. Remove from the pan, place on a baking sheet and keep warm in the oven. Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in the pan and cook the remaining bread.

Sprinkle the French toast with powdered sugar and serve immediately with syrup, and bacon twirls on the side.

    Bacon Twirls:

    1 pound bacon

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the bacon in an even layer on the sheet and twist each slice from both ends to create a corkscrew effect. Return to the baking sheet and press down on both ends to keep from unraveling.

Bake in the oven until brown and crisp, about 12 to 15 minutes, turning as needed halfway through the cooking time.

Remove from the oven and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Baked Blueberry-Pecan French Toast with Blueberry Syrup

    Recipe Summary

Prep Time: 8 hours 15 minutes

    Cook Time: 30 minutes

    Yield: 6 generous servings

    User Rating:

    1 (24-inch) baguette

    6 large eggs

    3 cups whole milk

    1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    1 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup pecans (about 3 ounces)

1/2 stick (1/4 cup) plus 1 teaspoon unsalted butter

    1/4 teaspoon salt

3 cups blueberries (1 cup of which will make the syrup)

    1/2 cup pure maple syrup

    1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Butter a 13 by 9-inch baking dish. Cut 20 (1-inch) slices from baguette and arrange in 1 layer in the baking dish. In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, nutmeg, vanilla and 3/4 cup brown sugar and pour evenly over bread. Chill mixture, covered, until all liquid is absorbed by bread, at least 8 hours, and up to 1 day.

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a shallow baking pan, spread pecans evenly and toast in middle of oven until fragrant, about 8 minutes. Toss pecans in pan with 1 teaspoon butter and salt.

    Increase temperature to 400 degrees.

Sprinkle pecans and blueberries evenly over bread mixture. Cut 1/2 stick butter into pieces and in a small saucepan heat with remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar, stirring until butter is melted. Drizzle butter mixture over bread and bake for 20 minutes, or until any liquid from the blueberries is bubbling.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, cook blueberries and maple syrup over moderate heat until berries have burst, about 3 minutes. Pour syrup through a sieve into a heatproof pitcher, pressing on solids, and stir in lemon juice. Syrup may be made 1 day ahead and chilled, covered. Reheat syrup before serving. Serve French toast with syrup.

    Panettone French Toast

    Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis

    Recipe Summary

    Difficulty: Easy

    Prep Time: 10 minutes

    Cook Time: 20 minutes

    Yield: 6 servings

    User Rating:

    Cinnamon Syrup:

    1 cup water

1 cup packed dark brown sugar

    2 tablespoons whipping cream

    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    French Toast:

1 (1.1 pound; 500 gram) loaf panettone bread, baking paper removed

    6 large eggs

    3/4 cup whipping cream

    3/4 cup whole milk

    1/4 cup sugar

    2 tablespoons unsalted butter

    1/2 cup mascarpone cheese

    Powdered sugar, for dusting

To make the syrup: Combine 1 cup of water and brown sugar in a heavy medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Boil until the syrup reduces to 1 cup, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the cream and cinnamon. Keep the syrup warm. (The syrup can be made 1 day ahead. Cool, then cover and refrigerate. Rewarm before serving.)

Meanwhile, prepare the French toast: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Trim the bottom crust of the panettone. Starting at the bottom end of the panettone, cut it crosswise into 6 (3/4-inch thick) round slices (reserve the top piece for toast!). In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until well blended. Add the cream, milk, and sugar and whisk until well mixed. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter on a large nonstick griddle over medium heat. Dip 3 slices of panettone into the custard, turning to allow both sides to absorb the custard. Grill the soaked panettone slices until they are golden brown and firm to the touch, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer the French toast to a baking sheet and keep them warm in the oven. Repeat with the remaining butter, panettone slices, and custard.

Transfer the French toast to plates. Dollop the mascarpone atop each. Lightly dust with the powdered sugar. Drizzle the cinnamon syrup over and around the French toast and serve immediately.Does anyone have a recipe for Baked French Toast?

Break eggs into a wide, shallow bowl, beat lightly with a fork. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk.

Over medium-low heat, heat pan coated with a thin layer of butter or margarine.

Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl or plate, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side. Soak/coat only as many slices as you will be cooking at one time.Add a sprinle of Cinnamon.

Transfer bread slices to heated pan, cooking slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side.

A couple of eggs, a splash of milk or cream, vanilla, cinnamon and if yiou want fluffier french toast add about 1-2 tbsp of bisquick mix.

Mix and dip in bread, to be healthier use whole wheat or whole grain toast.

Use pam to grease your pan and top with as little butter as you can and either sugar free syrup or fresh fruit, or even apple sauce.
I would use multigrain bread, the little nuts and seeds in it enhance the nutrition and flavor. Also, thicker bread works better so maybe buy a whole loaf and slice it yourself?

In my egg mixture I put eggs, a little milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. As they are cooking I also sprinkle a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg on each side. This makes them so flavorful that I never feel the need to use powdered sugar or syrup (which is where all of the unhealthy sugaryness comes from)

Also, you might try using just egg whites, though Im not sure how well it would work. oh I just asked my husband who is a chef and he said they would cook fine but would taste slightly different without the yolks.

    Hope i helped
There is none, they are all bread and egg. Some recipes have other ingredients like cream cheese or jam, some are served with butter and syrup, others with powdered sugar. This is not a low cal dish.

I suppose you could use egg beaters, I have never tried it though. You could use cooking spray instead of margarine to cook it in.
there really is no HEALTHY french toast recipes because french toast isn't healthy...you can make a french toast that's healthier and has less fat but it's isn't going to be completely ';diet friendly';. It has too much sugar in it which turns into carbs
if you already know how to make french toast just add a hint of cinnamon and Vanilla it will make your taste buds go crazy .

I don't use a recipe..just eyeball it %26amp; I guarantee if you do the same, it'll turn out delicous. It's easy..and quick..I usually put 3-4 eggs (depending on how large of a batch you're planning on making) cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, %26amp; milk. Just put a dash of this and a dash of that. I'm serious...don't stress about the portions..of course be realistic..don't put one cup of sugar in...but just enough to your judgement. If you don't feel confident in not measuring the ingredients..cook one toast, test the taste..and if adjustment is needed, do so, then continue.

Looking for a recipe for French- Toast using the microwave oven.?

No, no, no. It must be in a skillet to get the outside of the toast golden and crispy. That is the point. Unless you want to make an improvised recipe like a baked bread pudding, which is the same thing only torn bread with the custard poured over it. Then you can, but it will never have the crispy outside.Looking for a recipe for French- Toast using the microwave oven.?
Keep looking. They won't turn out right in the microwave.Looking for a recipe for French- Toast using the microwave oven.?
You can buy them already made in the frozen section at the store, they taste really good. All you do is put them in the microwave (microwave does not cook it crunchy), other than that, there is no other way.
Combine egg and milk. Dip bread slice in mixture. Turn until well coated and let the bread soak for at least one minute. Place bread on microwave safe plate, and microwave on medium high for one minute. Turn bread over and microwave on medium high one minute more. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

    Modify it all you like

I can't take credit for the recipe, but I did hunt it down for you based on what you said you liked and didn't like.
Butter the toast and name is JACQUE!
take the eggs and whip them up well. Add a little bit of water if you do not like milk, OR you could add a little fruit juice.

Add the cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, instant coffee, or other spices you like, and a little bit of sugar.

You can make french toast from any bread you like. It does not have to be the fat toast. a little stale is not too bad, but the results will show the crunch.

A couple of things. If using stale bread, give it a minute to soak in the egg mix. only turn them once, so make sure the heat is right and the butter is melted well before putting it into the pan.

some people will do a quick set of the egg int he frying pan then into the oven to really cook the egg all the way especially if you let it soak a bit.

Top with honey, mashed up fresh fruit, or peanut butter and jam, or powdered sugar and enjoy!

    k
for 2 people, about 4 slices of bread:

    2 eggs beaten

    1/4 cup milk

    2 tablespoons flour

    2 tablespoons sugar

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

beat all ingredients together. Dip bread, any kind. in the ';batter'; and lay on buttered hot griddle. I cut the bread in half corner to corner. Cook about 1 minute, lifting a corner to check for doneness. Flip them over and cook the other side. Sift powder sugar over, pats of butter and pancake syrup or fruit syrup on top of that.
Sorry Meg, but to make French Toast, you must have milk, cream, or half-and-half. Otherwise it is just toast.

Part of this you will have to experiment with amounts. Start with one cup of milk, and one egg. You can always make more.

To the milk and egg mixture, add a teaspoon of vanilla, or more if you wish, and a couple of teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Whisk it until it is well mixed.

You can use any kind of bread, be it Texas Toast, slices of French or Italian Bread, plain old white sandwich bread or whole grain bread. Some folks will tell you that stale bread works best, but fresh will work just fine.

Get your griddle hot, over medium high flame. Grease the griddle with butter or oil.

Drop a slice of bread in your custard mix, push it under and turn it to make sure it is well saturated

Toss your saturated bread on the griddle, and if you have room, soak another slice of bread and add it to the griddle.

Let the bread cook a minute or so on each side, cook until you get golden brown color. Remove from the griddle and serve with syrup or honey.

There are plenty of more complicated recipes for French Toast, but this one is quick, easy, and tasty.

    Doc
Try this out: Take 3 eggs and beat them with 1 teaspoon Cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ginger, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract. If you would like to make the mixture a little creamier, add some vanilla soy milk(2-4 tablespoon)

Take any sliced bread you like and let it soak in the egg wash for 2 mins. Heat up some oil in a skillet and fry both sides until golden. Serves with some confectioners sugar and strawberries, or with honey and crushed almonds
If you want the best ever in the world and it is world famous after all these years make this

    http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/v鈥?/a>
First get bread, an egg, and a pan.

Then get the bread and soak it into the egg. Don't smash the eggs yoke. Now put the pan on low and put the bread with the smothered egg on it. Now wait until the egg is fully cooked.
    Instead of milk, use water.

You can add cinnamon to the water and eggs AND after cooking, you can sprinkle MORE cinnamon on top.

Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

    Makes 6 servings.

    Ingredients:

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter

    1 cup packed brown sugar

    2 tablespoons corn syrup

    8- to 9-inch round loaf country-style bread

    5 large eggs

    1 1/2 cups half-and-half

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    1 teaspoon Grand Marnier

In a small heavy saucepan melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup over moderate heat, stirring, until smooth and pour into a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking dish. Cut six 1-inch thick slices from center portion of bread, reserving ends for another use, and trim crusts. Arrange bread slices in one layer in baking dish, squeezing them slightly to fit.

In a bowl whisk together eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, Grand Marnier, and salt until combined well and pour evenly over bread. Chill bread mixture, covered, at least 8 hours and up to 1 day.

Preheat oven to 350掳 F. and bring bread to room temperature.

Bake bread mixture, uncovered, in middle of oven until puffed and edges are pale golden, 35 to 40 minutes.

    Serve hot French toast immediately.
2 slices of very soft white bread (making it thicker than 1 inch)

    1 large egg

1 tea spoon of fresh cream

a little bit of icing sugar

    3 tablespoon of cooking oil

    butter and maple syrup

    Direction

    1) beat egg with fresh cream and icing sugar

    2) spread peanut butter on one of slice then fold another slice on it to make sandwich

    3) put sandwich on a plate, spoon egg mixture on the sandwich's surface till it turn all yellow, then turn upside down and repeat the same process.

    4) heat cooking oil on frying pan over medium heat, when the oil is hot enough, put sandwich in the oil and fry for 30 seconds, turn over the sandwich, fry for another 30 seconds, reduce heat to low, turn the toast, fry both sides till crispy and golden.

    5) Serve hot with butter and maple syrup. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on your toast if desire!

I sometimes serve a scoop of vanilla ice-cream at side.
    French toast of France.

    very simple

So sorry if my English is bad

2 eggs, old(not too old :)) baguette which got dry, milk, sugar and butter.

Cut your baguette in 3 parts, then cut again each in two parts. Put each part in the milk until the baguette is not dry anymore (about 1 minute). With a brush, generously paint both sides of your baguette with the yellow of the eggs.

Then cook them softly in a pan with butter both sides until they turn golden. Once it's done, take them out of the fire and put a thin and regular layer of sugar on it. Then, put them back on a very soft fire until the sugar turns into a golden, little bit crusty caramel.

I realize I probably don't use the appropriate vocabulary, I hope it makes sense!
My man makes the best french toast in the world! (Its the only thing he can cook LOL) I know he puts cinnimin, sugar and vanilla and milk in the eggs before he beats them then dips the bread in and puts them in a pan with a little butter in the bottom. Oh and then he sprinkles cinnimin sugar on the top or powdered suger with strawberries on the side for fancy breakfast LOL. Good luck.

His mom makes them fried in oil its gross. But thats just my opinion.

Whats a good recipe for french toast?

This actually sounds good: Crunchy Cinnamon French Toast. It's made from simple ingredients (egg-soaked bread with crushed cereal and almonds).

    3 large eggs

    1/2 cup milk

    1/3 cup half-and-half

    2 teaspoons cinnamon

    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

    1/8 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups cornflakes, lightly crushed

2/3 cup sliced almonds, lightly crushed

    2 tablespoons unsalted butter

    8 slices bread

    fresh fruit slices (any)

Make the toast: Preheat oven to 350掳 F. Whisk together the eggs, milk, half-and-half, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a shallow baking dish and set aside. Combine the cornflakes and almonds in another shallow dish. Melt 1/2 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over low heat. Dip 2 slices of bread in the egg mixture and lightly coat each side. Transfer the slices to the cornflake mixture, turn to coat, and place in the prepared skillet. Cook for 3 minutes on each side, transfer to a baking sheet, and set aside. Repeat with the remaining butter and bread slices. Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Serve immediately or keep warm in 200掳 F oven.

Use 1 egg per person. Beat with a fork in a shallow bowl. Add a little milk (I never measure it, just a couple TBS per person is needed). Mix together well, add cinnamon to taste. Dip day-old bread in the mixture, making sure both sides are coated well. Fry in a skillet using a little melted butter until both sides are golden brown. Bread

    2 eggs

    little milk

    fry till golden

    add SALT
I like to beat about 4 eggs plus 1/2 of whole milk. I add 2 teaspoons of vanilla, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and about a tablespoon of sugar. A little nutmeg is good too, but not necessary. Beat the mixture well. Soak your bread on both sides, until throughly soaked, but not falling apart. I like to use a cinnamon bread or a baguette sliced thick. Don't use the pre-sliced breads. Go to your bakery and get the good stuff that you can slice yourself. A nice brioche is also good. Fry in butter and a little vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown. Sprinkle on powdered sugar and top with syrup. I like to flavor my syrup with cinnamon and vanilla. Keep the extra pieces warm in the oven on 200 degrees on a cookie sheet.
Haggis French Toast is really good.

    1 sheep's stomach, thoroughly cleaned

The liver, heart, and lights (lungs) of the sheep

    1 piece of bread.

    1 egg.

    1 tsp. of cinnamon

    1 lb Beef suet

    2 large Onions

    2 tb Salt

1 ts Freshly ground black pepper

1/2 ts Cayenne or red pepper

    1/2 ts Allspice

2 lb Dry oatmeal (the old-fashioned, slow-cooking kind)

2-3 cups broth (in which the liver, heart and lights were cooked)

    1 cup of wheat flower

What you need: Canning kettle or a large spaghetti pot, 16- to 20 quart size with a lid to fit it; meat grinder; cheesecloth

What to do: If the butcher has not already cut apart and trimmed the heart, liver and lungs, do that first. It involves cutting the lungs off the windpipe, cutting the heart off the large blood vessels and cutting it open to rinse it, so that it can cook more quickly. The liver, too, has to be freed from the rest. Put them in a 4-quart pot with 2 to 3 cups water, bring to a boil, and simmer for about an hour and a half. Let it all cool, and keep the broth.

Run the liver and heart through the meat grinder. Take the lungs and cut out as much of the gristly part as you easily can, then run them through the grinder, too. Next, put the raw beef suet through the grinder. As you finish grinding each thing, put it in the big kettle. Peel, slice and chop the onions, then add them to the meat in the kettle. Add the salt and spices and mix.

The oatmeal comes next, and while it is customary to toast it or brown it very lightly in the oven or in a heavy bottomed pan on top of the stove, this is not absolutely necessary. When the oatmeal has been thoroughly mixed with the rest of it, add the 2 cups of the broth left from boiling the meat. See if when you take a handful, it sticks together. If it does, do not add the third cup of broth. If it is still crumbly and will not hold together very well, add the rest of the broth and mix thoroughly. Have the stomach smooth side out and stuff it with the mixture, about three-quarters full. Sew up the openings. Wrap it in cheesecloth, so that when it is cooked you can handle it.

Now, wash out the kettle and bring about 2 gallons of water to a boil in it. Put in the haggis and prick it all over with a skewer so that it does not burst. You will want to do this a couple of times early in the cooking span. Boil the haggis gently for about 4 or 5 hours. If you did not have any cheesecloth for wrapping the haggis, you can use a large clean dishtowel. Work it under with kitchen spoons to make a sling with which you can lift out the haggis in one piece. You will probably want to wear lined rubber gloves to protect your hands from the hot water while you lift it out with the wet cloth. (You put the dish cloth in the pot only after the haggis is done; you do not cook the towel with the haggis as you would the cheesecloth.)

Note: Even if the butcher has cleaned the stomach, you will probably want to go over it again. Turn the stomach shaggy side out and rinse. Rub it in a sinkful of cold water. Change the water and repeat as many times as necessary, until the water stays pretty clear and handling it does not produce much sediment as the water drains out of the sink.

    Put Haggis on toast.
Ooh you can stuff it with some fruit you have, or drizzle some sugar on it and then let it macerate for about 10 minutes. Then put the fruit on the first side and slap on the other piece of toast.

In a seperate bowl mix together an egg or two with some milk (just throw it in) add a dash of cinammon if you like, then dip the stuffed toast in it and have a skillet ready with butter melted in.

Cook until done, sprinkle some sifted powdered sugar over the top with some nicely whipped cream and enjoy!! Hope this helps!! Yum and we just bought strawberries yesterday...........

We like our French toast soaked in the milk/egg mixture. I'd recommend that for you since you're using nice thick Texas toast. Thaw your bread if it's frozen - it doesn't take long. Place in single layer in jelly roll pan or cake pan or whatever you have so they'll lay flat.

Crack 4 eggs into a 2 cup liquid measure. Beat them with a fork or whisk. Add 1 cup milk and 2 Tbs. granulated sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon and stir all together. Add a teaspoon of vanilla also if you want. Pour some of the sauce over your bread slices, then turn them over and pour the rest of the sauce on the bread. Let sit for 5 minutes or overnight (refrigerate if longer than 1/2 hour).

Heat griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Spray with a little non-stick spray or melt a little butter. Place as many pieces of toast on heated surface as will fit in one batch. Turn over when nicely browned on bottom side - about 3 minutes. Second side doesn't take as long to brown. Serve with sprinkled powdered sugar and syrup or applesauce.

It's nice of you to make a nice breakfast for your family.French toast recipe for four people?
    1. Leave the toast out, covered with a paper towel, overnight. This allows the bread the harden just a tad so that it can absorb the ingredients without tearing too easily.

    2. In the morning, whisk 5-7 eggs (depending on size of egg. e.g., less for ';extra large';) some milk, cinnamon and a little bit of orange juice (yes, OJ, TRUST ME) together in a pan.

    3. Dredge your bread in the whisked mixture and let it sit on both sides of the bread for about 30 seconds, enough to absorb the egg mixture.

    4. Place on a med-heated griddle or pan, sprayed with Pam or a little butter. Heat all the way through, until bread starts to get a little puffy and egg mixture is cooked.

    5. Dust the pieces with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

    6. Serve hot with syrup and/or powdered sugar and fruit, if you like.
whisk 6 eggs with 1/2 cup of milk and add about 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

dip each piece of bread in the mixture coating both sides. Place in a pan over medium heat and check it to see if it is browning. Once it is golden brown flip and once that side is golden brown it is done.

Sprinkle some of the powdered sugar on top add some syrup and your done.

I mix together milk, egg, and cinnamon. I lightly spread butter on the bread, dip the bread in the egg mixture and put it on a frying pan. I sprinkle a little more cinnamon on it. After I flip it, I sprinkle a little more cinnamon on it. After it is done, I butter it and lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar and pour maple syrup over it! Yumm! If you don't have powdered sugar, just use granulated! It tastes just as good!

Stuffed French toast is two pieces of French toast that are stuffed with bananas, strawberries, or other fruit. It is usually topped with butter, maple syrup, and powdered sugar.[2]

In the United Kingdom it is often savory and known as either 'eggy bread' or 'Gypsy toast' or just 'bread dipped in egg' in South East Wales. Another name is 'French fried bread' but this not to be confused with 'fried bread', which is white bread fried in butter or fat left over from frying bacon or sausages. One variation has marmite spread on the bread before dipping .

i usually use white bread wheat will be just fine. i usually put 2 eggs in a bowl mix with a fork till its very mixed and then i put a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract with a hint of Cinnamon that will take the taste of egg away and give it a sweeter yet more french toast taste i put butter on the pan to give the taste of butter on the bread
This recipe is very very good.

Use challah bread, also called egg bread. You'll find it in the bakery part of your store. Cut the pieces very thick, maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Crack two or three eggs (dependds how much toast you're making) and just add a splash of whole milk or cream. Sprinkle in some cinnamon, and then dip the pieces of bread in. Cook in a pan with a little bit of butter or pam (no oil), or a griddle works fine, too. Just cook on each side until golden brown. When its done, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and drizzle with maple syrup, but of course those are optional (I like it that way)

    Enjoy!
white bread, you can use texas toast bread for bigger peices. for the mixture you use about 3 eggs and just add as much milk as you prefer your french toast, less for more eggy taste and more milk for less eggy taste. You can add cinnamon too. Dip the toast and cook it on a griddle.

    1 cup half-and-half

    3 large eggs

2 tablespoons honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds

    1/4 teaspoon salt

8 (1/2-inch) slices day-old or thick bread,,, or a french bread that you can slice to the size you want

    4 tablespoons butter

In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt. You may do this the night before. When ready to cook, pour custard mixture into a pie pan and set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Dip bread into mixture, allow to soak for 30 seconds on each side, and then remove to a cooling rack that is sitting in a sheet pan, and allow to sit for 1 to 2 minutes.

Over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a 10-inch nonstick saute pan. Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from pan and place on rack in oven for 5 minutes. Repeat with all 8 slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup

French toast is something that truthfully, is VERY hard to mess up! :) I always make mine with Texas Toast (really thick slices of bread):

In a bowl big enough to dip bread:

    8 eggs (beat until frothy)

    1/4 cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (more or less to taste...some people like it really vanilla-y)..you can also sub almond extract...really tasty as well!

Drop a few tbsp of butter into a large skillet over medium heat. Once melted, Dip your bread into the egg mixture, making sure the whole piece is coated, and put in buttered pan. make sure to leave enough room in between slices to be able to flip. Cook until golden brown (about 2 min), and flip. Another two minutes, and remove from pan.

Dust with powdered (confectionery) sugar, %26amp; serve! (with butter, of course) :) You can also try some of these topping ideas:

    *maple syrup

    *fruit syrup

    *hot cooked fruit

    *jam

    *cinnamon sugar

    *brown sugar

I keep it very simple, 2 eggs, a dash of skim Milk, Nutmeg, dip two slices of white bread, cook it in a lightly buttered skillet on medium heat.
I mix 2 eggs and a bit of milk...maybe 1/4 cup is all you'll need. Dip bread in egg and fry in melted butter over medium high heat. Flip when brown.
Sorry kiddo I buy mine frozen very hard to mess.

    Hope it helps
Why do we need bananas? Aside from being a low calorie healthy snack. A medium sized banana costs you about 105 calories. Bananas are an excellent source of potassium, dietary fiber, maganese, and vitamin B6. They are low in sodium, cholesterol, and saturated fat. The only bad thing is that a large portion of calories come from sugar.

Bananas have always been one of my favorite fruits...good for you too! While I think bananas are terrific all by their lonesome, thereare some folks out there that prefer to incorporate them into their diet by adding them to various recipes. Here are some excellent EASY recipes for you to try. Most of the ingredients are ones that you probably have in your pantry already!:

    Bananas Foster

This is good over vanilla ice cream or french toast. All you need is:

    1/4 cup of butter

    2-4 bananas sliced

    2/3 cup of brown sugar

    1/2 t.cinnamon

    1 tbsp. vanilla

    3 tbsp. rum-if you like

Melt the butter in a pan or skillet. Add in brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and rum stirring constantly. When hot and bubbly add in banana slices. Cook for 2 minutes and serve.

    Oatmeal Banana Bread

Oh so easy, quick, and goood!

    You'll need:

    2 c. Bisquick

    2/3 c. sugar

    1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas

    1 T. vanilla

1/4 c. milk or plain yogurt

    oatmeal - quick cooking

    2 eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease the bottom of a 9/5/3 loaf pan

Stir all of the ingredients together until moist.

For an added kick fold in 1 cup of fresh blueberries if you've got any.

    Bake 45-50 minutes

    Cool 10 minutes

Remove from loaf pan and cool on wire rack an additional 2 hours

    Chiquita Banana

    Nana Puddin'

I had never had banana pudding until I moved to Florida, so I guess this is more of a southern recipe, but it is delish! Oh, and so easy!

    What you need:

5 oz Jell-O Instant Vanilla Pudding

1/2 a small can of Sweetened Condensed Milk

3 cups of milk - I use 1% but this is an easy recipe so use what you like!

    1 tub Cool Whip

    1/2 box Nilla Wafers

    3 Bananas

8 oz cream cheese(or Neufatchel Cheese) at room temp.

You can make this in any kind of bowl, loaf pan or baking dish you have, but I recommend you choose something with a lid unless you think it will all get gobbled up the first night--a definate possibility!

    What you do:

Whip the cream cheese with a whisk or electric mixer until fluffy. Mix in #'s 1, 2, %26amp; 3.

    Fold in the Cool Whip

Layer the pudding mixture, nilla wafers, and bananas and chill!

    Peanut Butter 'n Banana Sandwich

Ok. This has been a diet staple of mine for at least 20 years. All you have to do is spread some peanut butter (I prefer natural organic peanut butter, but regular old Jif will do) on 2 slices of bread. Slice up a banana, and smoosh it in between those two slices. Eat and enjoy!

This is great if you are out of jelly or jam, or are just looking for a little twist on an old sandwich.

    This monkey's got the idea!

    Chocolate Covered Bananas

You will need a double boiler to make these ones...and:

    bananas

    popsicle sticks

2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips

    2 T. shortening

If you like nuts, you could chopup some roasted peanuts for added flava

Peel 3-4 bananas, cut in half, and stick a popsicle stick in each half. Place on wax paper and freeze.

Once frozen, melt the chocolate chips and shortening in the double boiler. Dip each frozen banana pop into the hot melted chocolate covering completely. If you decided to go with nuts, rollwhile the chocolate isstill wet in nuts.

Return to freezer to harden. These are great to eat frozen.

If you don't like to eat them frozen, skip both freezer steps.

I love to eat bananas, and try to eat at least one a day. I do this for two reasons - one because they are good for you and two because they are a relatively low calorie snack. Your delicious sounding recipes make me think the second part of my ';why I love bananas'; meme is about to get dropped.

    Thanks for the great hub.
