The secret to great French toast is flavoring! My son taught me (don't ask me where he learned, I have no idea). 2 eggs, beaten either with a fork or mixer, add a half to 2/3 cup of milk, 1%, 2% or whole, no difference! Then the secret that makes it great, add a teaspoon of extract. My son adds vanilla to the mix, or strawberry, almond, blueberry, or ?? extract. Dip the bread into the mix and fry. He uses a spray on non stick product. Then sprinkle with your favorite toppings....Cinnamon and sugar, powdered sugar, fresh fruit and whipped cream. Go nuts! You'll find your fave too!
1 egg ,1tbls. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla,1/2 cup milk or cream makes 4-always fry in butter i also recently tried using the flavored coffee creamer (i used hazelnut) it came out great and i can't wait to try more flavors! try stuffing them (after cooking)with flavored cream cheesespreads and returning to the pan to melt a little. YUM is right!
I like to sprinkle powdered sugar on top. You can also use a little Cinnamon. Blueberry or strawberry's are great on top too. Don't forget the whipped cream Yum Yum :P
eggs+ milk+ cinnamon+ nutmeg+ vanilla extract+frying pan with pam= deliciouso!

Try any of these recipes, they all sound yummy. But as something a little different, try a sprinkle of nutmeg along with cinnamon. The nutmeg makes the french toast taste a little like egg nog. Great around Christmas time.
go to allrecipes.com or cook.com i don't make french toast! sorry!
I always get the cinnamon bread from the store and dip it into egg yolk and grill it in a frying pan, I use cookie cutters, then I put powedered sugar on it....thats how my kids like it anyhow
The secret ingredeint is a goya soda cola champagne. But only put 2-3 tablespoons in it has a great sweet flavor.
Mix the egg up together with some sugar and cinnamon to the eggs. It's very good
My husband LOVES french toast, and I'm constantly looking for new recipes. He likes them all, but you know me--constantly striving for something better. lol Anyway, this is Alton Brown's recipe, and is without a doubt the BEST french toast I've ever had. If you can spare the extra calories, I'd definitely make it. YUMMA!

1 cup half-and-half

3 large eggs

2 tablespoons honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds

1/4 teaspoon salt

8 (1/2-inch) slices day-old or stale country loaf, brioche or challah bread

4 tablespoons butter

In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt. You may do this the night before. When ready to cook, pour custard mixture into a pie pan and set aside.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Dip bread into mixture, allow to soak for 30 seconds on each side, and then remove to a cooling rack that is sitting in a sheet pan, and allow to sit for 1 to 2 minutes.

Over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a 10-inch nonstick saute pan. Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from pan and place on rack in oven for 5 minutes. Repeat with all 8 slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup, whipped cream or fruit.
