We bake it in a loaf pan, and if any leftovers, just slice and warm up in toaster.

2 cups (1 pint) half-and-half

4 eggs

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

4 cups bread cubes

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Coat a 5- by 9-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the bread cubes; mix well.

3. Stir in the bread cubes and allow to sit for 10 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed.

4. Spoon into the loaf pan and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until golden.

5. Remove from the pan; slice and serve.Whats your eggy bread/french toast recipe?
Depends on what mood I'm in.

Normal mood I'll just whisk 2 eggs, a splash of milk, dip a couple rounds of bread in let soak for a min or two and then fry until golden on both sides.

If I'm in a want to footer mood I'll sprinkle cinnamon into the egg mix I'll use brioche or muffins, not normal loaf, will let the bread soak for longer, and then put the bread into the frying pan along with the rest of the egg mixture, turn it over trying to keep it in one piece, and then while the underside is cooking i'll dribble either honey or golden syrup over it and let it melt a bit. Then eat.
