What is your best french toast recipe?

This has got to be my favorite breakfast, but my french toast is very typical, soak white bread in egg yolk, cook it up in butter, add syrup. Pretty basic, but I am very open to suggestion.

I use cinnamon swirl bread for mine and add cinnamon, vanilla flavoring and sugar to the egg/milk mixture. You can also use egg bread. Once you have cooked the french toast you can spread cream cheese and make a fruit syrup by taking fresh fruit, a little water and sugar bring to a boil and pour over your french toast. If you want an easier way you can take strawberry jelly or jam and warm in the microwave and pour over the toast.
I have it either sweet or savoury, and everyone I know thinks I am gross, but here goes:

Sweet;

Soak white bread with 2 beaten eggs and some milk

Fry on both sides until brown and sprinkle with sugar

Savoury;

Soak white bread with 2 beaten eggs, some milk, some Worcester sauce and black pepper

Fry on both sides until brown and cover with tomato sauce.

Lovely!
I use texas toast. For 3-4 slices i use 2 eggs, 2 table spoons of milk, beat this together then add tablespoon of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg and cinnamon, beat this together. I like to fry mine in butter or margarine, but oil is good too. Remember to let the bread soak up the mixed well. My favorite topping is peanut butter and maple syrup. Don't laugh! Try it.
The best is the one you enjoy. I add a little sugar and cinnamon before frying the bread.
